Both the A and B teams placed third overall. ”My favorite thing about rifle is how calm you need to be when you’re shooting,” said Howell. “You can’t mess around. You need to stay in the zone to shoot well.”

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- On Friday, Jan. 10, the LRHS Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program held their annual Winter Formal at the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club from 6 -11 p.m. The Formal has five main parts: The receiving line, the ceremonial toasts and Color Guard, the honoring of the guests, dinner, and dancing. All the functions serve to teach cadets the proper procedure and etiquette at formal events.

This was the team’s second official meet of the season. The Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced teams placed first overall, and the Orienteering team also placed first overall.

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – On Saturday, Nov. 16, the LRHS Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) male and female Raider teams defended their Tier 3 State Champion titles for the second year in a row. The LRHS Raiders competed in the Raider State Championship at Camp Flaming Arrow in Lake Wales. The team left early Friday morning with Lt. Col (LTC) Richard Roller and spent the night camping there.

The team earned first place overall, with first places in all three categories: novice (yellow), intermediate (orange), advanced (green).
